THE BUTTERFLY BEREAVEMENT ROOM AT TEXAS CHILDREN’S
My cousin, Aimee Renaudin, was a neonatal ICU nurse at Texas Children’s Hospital. She had the vision to create a bereavement room after she she witnessed numerous families attempt to enjoy the last few minutes of their babies lives while in a large room surrounded by other sick babies and families. The bereavement room now functions as a nursery, where families can spend the last moments with their child in a soothing, private environment.
I was so blessed to be asked to create some wall art for the room. Donations were made in memory of children and their names were written around the wings of the butterflies.
“BUTTERFLIES HAVE SPECIAL SYMBOLISM IN MANY DIFFERENT CULTURES AND OFTEN SERVE AS A SYMBOL OF RESURRECTION, HOPE, CHANGE AND LIFE.”
I was honored to be asked to be the featured artist for the Zazu 2015 Auction. Camp Aranzazu is an amazing place. Check it out-> http://www.camparanzazu.org
“Camp Aranzazu is a therapeutic recreational camp located in Rockport, Texas for children and adults with special needs. Our quality programs and trained staff adapt all activities to create a fun, challenging group experience. Campers balance academic skill building with camping activities to regain confidence, relax, and have fun. General camping experiences teach children and adults with disabilities how they fit into society and how they can focus on what they can do, instead of what they cannot do.”

I am so happy to announce that my paintings are on display at Three Doors, a fabulous home goods and interior design store in Houston. -> http://threedoorshouston.com I’m so blessed to get to work with so many amazing business women! This place is gorgeous. New works on display painted especially for Three Doors!
NOT BRAGGING! -> I hear “I like your style” a lot. Probably because it’s in your face and you don’t know what else to say when a neon orb walks in the room that is me. Sometimes I look super “artsy” and people ask what I do. Sometimes I have paint on my face.
Having my new business brain on all the time I can’t help but think it would be fun to start a new line of fashion accessories for people like me. That way when people ask “where’d u get dat?!?” I can say “I made it!” Right now I’m experimenting with a few things and we’ll see how they go on Etsy.
